Entwicklung von Simulationstools zur Optimierung von Separationsprozessen in Dekantierzentrifugen

The aim of this project is the development of dynamic models for the description of solid-liquid separation in decanter centrifuges. The models are implemented in self-developed simulation tools, which are used for the design and for a better physical understanding of transient behaviour in decanter centrifuges.
The project includes:

  • Characterisation and modelling of mechanical dewatering and its influence on the rheology of the sediment.
  • Simulation and validation of different sizes (scale-up)
  • Optimisation of different process variables by means of optimisation algorithms based on the simulation
  • Investigation and modelling of degritting (separation of oversize particles)
