Science Communication

Scientific findings are an important basis for fact-based decisions to improve existing conditions. That is why the objective communication of our research results in the field of "gas-particle systems" in dialogue with society is important to us. To communicate our results, we use a variety of communication channels in collaboration with journalists and artists.

Air Pollution Control / Breathing Air Quality

Our research findings on the pollution of breathing air with particulate matter (PM2.5 - ultrafine particulate matter) and harmful gases can be found in numerous print, online, radio and television formats. The following list of links provides an overview

Corona-Aerosols

Corona spreads as an aerosol via the air we breathe. In times of the corona pandemic, we provided information about the behavior of aerosols and the various protective components. The aim of the communication activities was to raise awareness of different measures for "dealing with aerosols" among the broadest possible sections of the population and thus improve the use of measures to protect against infection by gas-borne viruses. Among other things, we addressed the following topics in the various contributions:

  • The effectiveness of different masks - FFP2 as a "compromise"
  • The correct way to wear masks
  • Correct ventilation
  • The effectiveness of indoor air filters in real-life applications
